Intention
There are hundreds of places where you can learn to teach yoga.
At Vala House, our intention reaches far beyond a certificate. We believe yoga is one of humanity's great wisdom traditions — a practical path towards greater clarity, compassion and freedom.
Over 24 days you'll learn not only how to teach yoga, but how to live it. Our hope is simple: that you leave not only as a confident teacher, but as a calmer, wiser and more deeply connected human being.
That's the heart of Vala House.
Peter
Founder

With a maximum of six trainees, every adjustment, every question and every teaching practice gets personal attention. You cannot hide at the back — and you'll be grateful for it.

Six students, not sixty
You will be seen

The Yoga Sūtras, the Bhagavad Gītā and Vedic philosophy taught by a teacher engaged in graduate-level Vedānta study — not as history, but as a practical guide for teaching and for life.

Rooted in the tradition
Philosophy that lives
Daily sauna and ice bath, sweat lodge ceremony, forest trails, beach days and the Robberg hike. The Garden Route does half the transformational work for us.

Forest, ocean, fire, breath
Nature as co-teacher
The people who shape
your journey
Teaching is less about transferring knowledge and more about sharing a way of being

Thank you Vala House for a memorable month. A journey of self-discovery and building connections. This was one of the most challenging experiences I have done, however, I would not have changed it. Thank you Peter for sharing your knowledge with us and creating this space. Caitlin, for your love and encouragement – for putting up with us on the hard days. Thank you Vala House for a memorable experience! I leave a piece of my heart here.

This YTT has been one of the hardest things I have done. But I felt very much supported, and in the end I had actually the best time of my life! The dogs and cats wandering around in and out of the shala or just laying in their basket were so amazing and supported me as well. They helped me get through all of it.
Thank you all for the love and positive vibes I will not forget you!
