The Over‑60s Renewal Retreat at Vala House is a nurturing, restorative experience crafted for people in their golden years who seek wellness, balance, and deep rest. Set in the serene rural Knysna, this seven-day immersion blends gentle movement, nutrition, community, and relaxation to support your physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

You’ll start each day with accessible practices like gentle yoga, specifically designed to support joint health, mobility, and balance. Our yoga sessions incorporate chair-based options and thoughtful modifications to meet all bodies, energy levels, and experience levels.

 

Afternoons include guided nature walks, workshops on healthy ageing, and therapeutic treatments like massage, Reiki, reflexology, sound journeys, and more. Topics explored in daily workshops include nutrition for bone health, tools for stress management, mindful ageing, and techniques to support sleep and cognitive clarity.

Evenings are quiet and contemplative, featuring cacao ceremonies, group meditations, and space for storytelling or journaling. You’ll be nourished by seasonal, plant-based meals, lovingly prepared with ingredients that support digestion, inflammation reduction, and vitality.

The retreat is not about doing more—but about doing less, more consciously. It's an opportunity to listen inward, connect with a like-minded community, and rediscover the quiet joy of simplicity.

This retreat is open to anyone seeking a deeper connection with themselves, whether through mindfulness, movement, or creative exploration. No prior experience in photography or wellness practices is necessary—just a willingness to slow down, embrace presence, and engage in self-discovery.
