Learn to create experiences that quiet the mind, calm the nervous system and stay with people long after the final note has faded.
For centuries, Tibetan singing bowls have been used to invite stillness, presence and deep inner restoration.
During this five-day immersive training at Vala House, you'll learn not only how to play these remarkable instruments, but how to guide experiences that help others reconnect with themselves.
Whether you're a yoga teacher, therapist, wellness practitioner or simply feel called towards this work, you'll leave with the confidence to facilitate authentic, professional sound journeys.
There is something extraordinary about sound and vibration
The room falls silent. People close their eyes. The first tone rises gently into the space. You watch shoulders soften. Breathing slows. Something changes.
For the next hour, words become unnecessary. When the final vibration fades, people open their eyes differently than when they arrived.
This is the power of sound.
During this training, you'll learn how to create experiences like these with confidence, authenticity and skill.
Imagine this...

Curriculum • 50 Hours
Five Days. Five Thresholds.
Each day builds on the one before it — the same way a bowl's tone builds:
Strike. Sustain. Spread. Settle. Silence.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR

Peter Townshend
Founder of Vala House • Yoga Teacher • Breathwork Facilitator • Retreat Leader
"The quality of a sound journey is shaped not by the instrument, but by the presence of the person who holds the space."
For more than a decade, Peter has guided individuals through experiences that cultivate stillness, resilience and meaningful transformation. His work draws together yoga, meditation, breathwork, philosophy and the restorative power of sound to create immersive experiences that are both deeply grounding and profoundly restorative.
As the founder of Vala House, Peter has spent years designing and facilitating retreats where people can slow down, reconnect with themselves and discover new ways of living with greater presence and intention. His teaching is known for being warm, authentic and deeply experiential, blending ancient wisdom with a contemporary understanding of the nervous system and human wellbeing.
Peter completed his Tibetan Singing Bowl Training with Ancient Auras in Goa, India, and integrates these timeless instruments into a broader practice of mindfulness, meditation and embodied awareness. His approach is rooted in respect for the Himalayan tradition while remaining practical, accessible and relevant to modern life.
More than teaching techniques, Peter teaches presence.
His intention is to help each participant develop the confidence, sensitivity and skill to facilitate sound experiences with authenticity, integrity and compassion.

Teaching Philosophy
"I believe the deepest transformation happens when people feel safe enough to become completely present.
The singing bowls are beautiful instruments, but they are not the source of the experience. Presence is.
This training is about learning to listen deeply, hold space with integrity and create experiences that leave people feeling calmer, more connected and more fully alive."
I am honoured to walk this path with you and support you in discovering the healer, teacher, and guide you are here to be.
